Allergies are making the lives of more and more people miserable, which is why the project, which is being implemented jointly by the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Pécs (PTE-TTK) and Rovitex Homedeco Kft., is of great importance. The project, with the identifier GINOP-2.1.1-21-2022-00062, aims to develop a new textile product line with special adsorption properties, which can significantly reduce allergic reactions.
The joint project of PTE-TTK and Rovitex Homedeco Kft. is another example of how science and innovation can contribute to improving the quality of life. The results achieved in the fight against allergies show that with the right resources and expertise, a real breakthrough can be achieved in this area. The new textile product line can not only make life easier for allergy sufferers, but can also contribute to creating a healthier and cleaner environment in the long term.
Innovative solutions and scientific research against allergies
Rovitex Homedeco Kft. and the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Pécs (PTE-TTK) are developing a new textile product line with special adsorption properties. The initiative was launched in October 2022, and the products are expected to be launched on the market in 2025. The development uses the most modern research and development techniques.
During the analytical tests carried out by Kromat Kft., the desired results were achieved using the chromatography method. With the help of the procedure, the components of the complex samples were separated, thus allowing their composition and quantity to be precisely determined. The methods used included high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), which is particularly suitable for the separation of biologically important, macromolecular, heat-sensitive substances.
The innovative methods and technologies introduced during the development of the new textile product line not only increased the efficiency of the research, but also allowed the optimization of the adsorption capacity of the products. The new textiles are able to effectively remove allergens from the environment, contributing to a cleaner and healthier indoor environment.
The products resulting from the research and development have already attracted great interest and are expected to represent a significant advance in reducing allergic reactions. The project was implemented with grant funding, which provided significant support for the research and development work. The grant funding enabled the project to receive all the necessary resources, including modern laboratory equipment and the work of a team of experts.

New hopes in the fight against allergies – innovative textile technology
The textile product line developed to reduce allergic reactions is unique in that it is able to adsorb allergens, thus reducing their presence in the environment. The adsorption properties were achieved by increasing the porosity of the textile fibers and using special impregnation materials. With the help of ultrasonic surface enhancement technology, the surface area of the textile fibers was significantly increased, which contributed to more efficient adsorption, i.e. surface binding.
During the research, several analytical methods were used to verify the efficacy and safety of the developed products. During the chromatography studies, detailed analyses were performed using HPLC equipment equipped with a UV/VIS detector, which confirmed the adsorption capabilities of the textile products.
The gradient elution program used during the measurements allowed us to precisely determine the retention time and concentration of each component. These analyses enabled the effective identification and removal of various allergens, thus ensuring that the new textiles were truly capable of reducing the risk of allergic reactions.
After the successful completion of the project, Rovitex Homedeco Ltd. plans to launch the developed textile product line on the market. The products can not only reduce allergic reactions, but also contribute to creating a cleaner and healthier indoor environment.
There is already a lot of interest in the development, so its product portfolio will hopefully become widely available on the market in 2025. More information about the project details and the developed textile product line is available here: https://rovitex.com/
